Cypress Gets Revenge Over Santa Ana

Chargers avenge earlier loss to the Dons.

Santa Ana, Calif. – The last time Santa Ana and Cypress met, the Chargers were outscored 1-0. The women of Cypress came out determined, reversing roles this time around holding the Dons scoreless. Cypress hasn’t allowed an opposing goal in six games. Sophomore midfielder Casey Kiehl picked up the second goal for Cypress.

Both goals came in the first half. The Chargers got on the board in the 17th minute when sophomore midfielder Elizabeth Ledezma scored off of an assist by sophomore midfielder Amber Lopez. The Chargers would score again just before halftime when Kiehl scored off of an assist by sophomore midfielder Amanda LoBello.

Both teams played scoreless soccer for the second half. Cypress outshot Santa Ana 18 shots to 10 shots on goal. Freshman goalkeeper Chelsea Broghamer made two saves in goal.
