Cypress Splits Season Series With Santiago Canyon

Orange, Calif. - The Chargers split their season series with Santiago Canyon College on the road Tuesday by getting edged 1-0 in a tightly contested defensive battle between two of the state's elite teams.
Cypress played solid on defense all game, holding a normally high-scoring Hawks' offense to a single goal, despite finishing with 14 total shots, including six on goal. The Chargers Kayla Neujahr nearly pulled off a second-straight shutout in goal over Santiago Canyon by stopping five-of-six shots on goal, including seven corner kicks.
Cypress will have a week off before its next conference matchup scheduled on November 1 at Irvine Valley with a 3 p.m. start time.
