Four Chargers to Move on to Play Soccer

Three are headed to San Marcos and one to Idaho State.

Cypress, Calif. - Cypress is consistently at the top of the Women’s Soccer rankings and prove it with championships and players who move on to the next level. This year is no different as four players so far have committed to playing at the next level. One Charger is headed to Division I Idaho State to compete in the Big Sky Conference while three Chargers are headed to Cal State San Marcos to play for the their inaugural soccer team.

Erin Dupont, a defender from Edison High School, is headed to Idaho State to play for the Division I Bengals. Dupont was named co-MVP for Cypress in 2005 after scoring 9 goals with 16 assists. Katelyn Krauss, a midfielder from Esperanza High School, is one of three Chargers headed to Cal State San Marcos to play in the NAIA. Krauss led Cypress in total points in 2005 with a team high 16 goals and 9 assists. She finished her career at Cypress with 38 goals and 16 assists. Midfielder Annica Perez from Diamond Bar High School is off to be a Cougar as well after a 4 assist and 2 goal career. Randi Leyva, a forward from Centenial High School, finished her year with 16 goals and 7 assists for the second highest number of total points for the Chargers in 2005. She is the third Charger headed for San Marcos.

Cypress loses 13 sophomores but as usual are quickly rebuilding for another run at State.
