Four Chargers Signed to Move On

Cypress, Calif. – Cypress Women’s Soccer has a tradition of sending their players on to play at four-year universities. This year’s talented squad is no different as the first crop of Chargers have signed on to the second half of their collegiate careers. Cassie McKay has signed on to Cal State Dominguez Hills, Brittney Elder has signed with Vanguard University, and Tiffany Craig and Yvonne Vasquez have both signed on for Cal State Fullerton.

McKay will stay close to home with the division II Toros. The captain defender was honored with first team all-conference team finishing the season with 6 assists and 7 goals. Elder is staying in Southern California as well playing for the NAIA Vanguard Lions. She finished as Cypress’s assist leader with 11 and second leading goal scorer for Cypress with 14 while also being named to the first team all-conference team. Craig and Vasquez will be just across town with the Division I Titans of Cal State Fullerton. Craig and Vasquez will have their hands full next year defending the Big West Championship. Craig was Cypress’s third first team all-conference player leading the team in goals with 15 with 6 assists. Vasquez overcame a mid-conference injury being named to the second team all-conference finishing the season with 34 points including 12 goals and 10 assists.
