Charger Freshmen Star on the All-Orange Empire Conference Team

Cypress, Calif. – The 2008 Orange Empire Conference team was announced today with six Charger freshmen and two sophomores featured on the list. Cypress earned four spots on the first team all-conference list and four on the second team list including six Charger freshmen. Cypress freshmen Casey Kiehl, Whitney Joslin, Nicole Weil, and sophomore Samantha Bock were all named to the first team. Freshmen Juliane Adams, Amanda LoBello, Katelyn Rinehart, and sophomore Diana Gallegos were named to the second team.
The conference champion Chargers were led by Kiehl who led Cypress in points throughout conference with 20 including eight goals. Joslin, the Charger keeper, allowed just one goal in all 14 conference games while making 47 saves. Bock, a sophomore transfer, led the Charger defense that picked up 13 shutouts. Weil was part of a powerful Charger offense picking up two goals and two assists through conference.
Cypress ended conference as Orange Empire Conference co-champions. Their season ended in the second round of playoffs via penalty kicks against conference rivals and co-champions Santiago Canyon.
