Cypress Highlights: Espinoza was one of the Chargers’ leading hitters in 2006 batting .400 for 25 RBI playing in all 58 games for Cypress. Espinoza's base running abilities shined leading Cypress in stolen bases with 18. Against Saddleback, she went two for two for three RBI. Espinoza’s efforts earned her second team all-Orange Empire Conference Honors. In the State Championship Tournament, Espinoza’s glove saved a homerun in the semis that would have cut the Charger lead to one against Mt. Sac. Her defensive abilities earned her Golden Glove honors at the State Championship and a place in Cypress’s Hall of Fame.
High School Highlights: On the freshman squad for the Griffins, Espinoza was named the team’s defensive player of the year. While on the Varsity squad, Espinoza was part of Los Al’s CIF Division I finalist run and two Sunset League Championships. She was named to the second team all-Sunset league team and was named the most improved player her senior year.
Personal: Parents are Jackie and George Espinoza, siblings are Blake, Jasmine, and Geoffrey. Favorite quote is, “Play hard or go home”.
