Danielle Nava currently serves as Director of Public Affairs for Planned Parenthood Orange and San Bernardino Counties. Prior to joining Planned Parenthood, she served as Associate Regional Director for the Anti-Defamation League, a national civil rights organization. Danielle has had a career in the not-for-profit sector for 15 years serving the Orange County community.

In 2007, Danielle was chosen as an American Marshall Memorial Fellow, a trans-Atlantic policy fellowship granted by the German Marshall Fund. As one of three Californians chosen nationally, she spent four weeks in Europe traveling to six different countries meeting with various government officials and politicians exchanging ideas around various policy issues including education, social services, immigration and other social justice issues working to forge stronger bonds between the US and Europe.

Danielle has a great passion for civic engagement and socially equality. As a civic-minded community member, she serves on the board of directors for the California Association of Human Relations Organizations and GLSEN Orange County. She also serves as an Executive Committee member of the Violence Prevention Coalition of Orange County and as an Advisory member of the Post Secondary Education Commission, Access and Equity for All Students Committee. She previously served on the board of directors for Project Access and the YWCA of Central Orange County, and is currently a member of the National Latina Business Women’s.

In addition to her work at Planned Parenthood, Danielle is an adjunct faculty member at Chapman University’s School of Education, where she has taught since 2002.

Danielle received her Masters Degree in Organizational Leadership with an emphasis in educational systems from Chapman University in 2002. In 1994, she earned a B.A. in Sociology from CSU, Fullerton and in 1992, an A.A. from Cypress College.
