Outstanding Graduate, 2007
David Glover served as president of the Associated Students for the 2006-2007.
That same year, he was honored as Cypress College’s Outstanding Graduate of the Year.
The Civil Engineering major served on a number of campus committees, including the President’s Advisory Cabinet, as part of his various student-government roles. He was active in four clubs on campus: the Alpha Gamma Sigma Honor Society, the Society of Future Engineers, the KEMA Chemistry Club and the Society of Physics Students.
“It has been my pleasure to know David for the past two years and to see the significant contributions he has made to the college,” then Cypress College President, Dr. Margie Lewis said in a letter of recommendation accompanying Mr. Glover’s nomination. “This year’s A.S. students are among the most committed and enthusiastic I have seen in my eight years as college president, and I attribute much of their success and involvement to David’s leadership.”
Paul Bottiaux, advisor of the Student Activities program at Cypress College, echoed those sentiments.
“The committee felt that overall this was the best group of candidates we have had in a number of years,” he said. Mr. Glover was selected from among 18 finalists for the annual award.
Notable among Mr. Glover’s accomplishments was the work he did to organize the first faculty-versus-students softball and volleyball competitions.
Mr. Glover’s academics have been strong as well. With an overall GPA of 3.86, he has been named to the President’s honor roll four of the past five semesters.
