Cypress, Calif. - Fullerton came to Cypress Friday afternoon for the year’s first home swim meet. The Hornets were too much to handle as the Cypress Women lost 93-157 and the Men lost 50-129. Cypress divers were a bright spot for the Chargers as they swept the meet. Jon Butler won the men’s diving competition 9-4 while Elizabeth Robinson won for the Charger women 9-4.
The relays were a highlight for both teams as both the men and women’s relays were determined by fractions of a second. The Charger women were short by .6 seconds while the men were short by .22 seconds. The Cypress women had several first place finishes. Sophomore Ashley Mead won the 100 meter breastroke beating the competition by over 4 seconds. Sophomore Kellie McCoy won the 50 meter fly with a time of 34.48.
