Santa Ana, Calif. - The Chargers went into a chaotic situation at Santa Ana College but kept their heads together to out-swim the Dons in a blowout as the women won 139-19 and the men won 88-51. The Cypress women swept every event and were paced by sophomore Ashley Mead who won in four events.

Mead and the rest of the Cypress women took advantage of a depleted Santa Ana squad. Mead won in the 100 meter breastroke, 500 meter freestyle, 50 meter breastroke, and the 200 meter freestyle relay. Mead’s relay teammates were sophomore Ashley Gonzalez, freshman Cristina Juarez, and sophomore Kellie McCoy. Juarez also won the 200 meter IM, the 100 meter backstroke, and the 200 meter freestyle.

Cypress improves their record to 1-1 in conference and face off with a tough Golden West team at home on Friday at 2:00 pm. This will be the Chargers’ last home meet this year.
