Cypress Splits Home Meet

Cypress, Calif. - Cypress hosted their first and only home meet of the year Wednesday taking on Santa Ana and Fullerton. The Chargers emerged with a split defeating Santa Ana 216-32 but losing to Fullerton by just 11, 166-155. Freshman Mallerie Lacer led Cypress earning first place finishes in both the 100 yard backstroke and freestyle with times of 1:10.68 and 37.06 respectively.

The Chargers finished first in seven races on the day. Freshman Stephanie Flesner emerged with the win in the 100 yard breastroke with a time of 1:18.47 and also won in the 50 yard with a time of 37.06.

Freshman Heather Kaneen swam a 32.30 in the fastest swim of the day in the 50 yard free. Freshman Kristle Winter picked up a win in the 100 yard breastroke with a time of 1:18.12 and the 500 yard free with 6:36.09. Freshman Alyssa Harmadi picked up a win in the 50 yard fly with a time of 32.87. Freshman Danielle Duran finished first in the 50 yard backstroke with a time of 33.61. Lacer, Flesner, Harmadi, and duran teamed up to win the 200 yard Medley Relay.

Cypress has no time off as they travel to Cuesta for the Invitational this weekend.
