Hillstead returns to Cypress after playing for head coach Nancy Welliver in 2002 and 2003 and earning Second Team all-Conference honors. Hillstead holds the school record for most kills in a game (29) and ranks on the career record book for digs and digs per game.
She is a graduate of Cerritos High School where she captained the team. After Cypress, Hillstead played at Cal State East Bay while earning her bachelor's in Kinesiology.
Since graduating, she has been coaching club volleyball and at camps. She currently works as a physical therapy assistant at Sea Cliff Health Center in Huntington Beach. Hillstead will work on recruiting and statistics for Cypress.
