Chargers Stumble at El Camino Quad

Cypress, Calif. – The Lady Chargers (4-4) fell to .500 on the year after a tough day of action at the El Camino Quad. Pasadena defeated Cypress 3-1 (23-25, 22-25, 25-20, 18-25) in the first match of the day, before El Camino College notched a 3-0 (21-25, 17-25, 18-25) straight sets win over Cypress in the second contest.
Against Pasadena, Megan Kirkpatrick and Stephanie Casillas tied for the team lead in kills with 16 apiece. Holly Webster had a team-high 19 digs, and Kristen Taylor performed at the net with 10 block (five solo).
In the second match of the day, Cypress had a hard time defending El Camino's serve. Casillas led the Chargers offensive attack with 10 kills, while Webster finished with a team-high 20 digs.
The Chargers will take a break from their schedule until Wednesday, September 21 when they host San Diego Mesa at 7 p.m. in a non-conference matchup at Cypress College.
