Cypress, Calif. - The Chargers came into theur home matchup against the Orange Empire Conference leading Golden West Rustlers winners of three straight, but an 0-3, (12-25, 15-25, 20-25) loss to GWC at home set them back a little, but with only two games remaining on their regular season schedule, Cypress College (10-10, 6-5) doesn't have time to look back now.
Cypress came out flat and couldn't get much going against the Rustlers outside attack. Golden West took advantage of some early opportunities to take the first game 25-12, then came back with a 25-15 victory in game two.
Down 2-0 in the match, Cypress battled to try and get back into the game, but a late scoring run by GWC closed out a 25-20 third set win and 3-0 match victory over the Cypress.
The Chargers will travel to Riverside C.C. on Wednesday, November 9 to take on the Tigers, before closing out their 2011 regular season schedule in a 7 p.m. match at home against Orange Coast College.
