Sestito has spent the last decade in coaching starting in 1996 at Lakewood High School with the frosh/soph boys team while concurrently beginning her tenure with the Seal Beach Volleyball Club. In 1997, Sestito returned to her alma mater at Long Beach City as an assistant coach for two seasons. In 2000, she settled at Cypress.
Before coaching, Sestito had a successful playing career beginning at Lakewood High School as a four-year varsity standout and captain. She also participated in club play as a part of the Ichiban Volleyball Club for six years. Sestito began her collegiate career at Long Beach City as their starting middle blocker where she led the Vikings to a second place finish losing to Golden West in a double final and then following with a third place finish in 1996 losing to Welliver’s Fullerton Hornets. She earned First Team all-South Coast Conference. From there, Sestito moved on to Sonoma State setting a conference record for digs in a single match. She was Sonoma’s starting outside hitter and captain leading the team in digs and second in kills.
At Cypress, Sestito will be working with the outside hitters and middle blockers.
