At Cypress College: Vargas finished her freshman season with one of the most prolific seasons for a setter in Charger history… named the 2009 Orange Empire Conference Most Valuable Player… placed on the All-State team… led the team with 1149 assists, second in the program record book for assists in a season… finished the year with 10.64 assists per game, 377 digs, and 102 kills… also led the team in aces with 58… had a season high 60 assists against Santa Barbara City on November 28th.
High School Highlights: A four-year standout for the Knights… a three-time First Team all-Empire League selection… earned a Second Team all-League selection as a freshman… honored with the Coaches’ Award as a junior… had 42 assists, 29 digs, seven blocks, and nine kills in one game… also participated in soccer and track.
Personal: Born on December 20th, 1990… parents are Guillermo and Rosa Vargas… siblings are Ericka, Deborah, Sandra, Geo, Guillermo, and Aaron… majoring in psychology… goal is to play every game as if it was her last.
