Head coach Nancy Welliver is entering her 28th year of coaching including the last ten years at Cypress. She led Cypress to their best finish in program history in 2009. Welliver led the Chargers to their first ever Orange Empire Conference championship and a second place finish in the state tournament. She was rewarded for the team’s success being named the 2009 Orange Empire Conference Coach of the Year. Welliver has built the program into one of the best in the state and amassing more wins than all of her predecessors at Cypress combined.
Before Cypress, Welliver spent fourteen years at Cerritos College making eight appearances at the State Championships with four runner-up finishes and one State Championship Title in 1992. She also spent some time at Fullerton College going to the State Championships two out of her three years there.
