Cypress, Calif. - Cypress hosted their second home game of the season Thursday taking on Sierra in the first of five straight games for the Chargers through Saturday. The Chargers struggled early and were unable to overtake the Wolverines in the four goal loss. Freshman attacker Danielle Duran led Cypress scoring four goals while collecting three steals.
The Chargers fell behind in the first quarter 5-1. The four goal deficit spelled the difference as Cypress matched Sierra’s goals in the second third and fourth quarter and Cypress lost by the same four goal deficit they started with.
Freshman 2 meter player Nora Jean TerBorch followed Duran with three goals in addition to three assists. Freshman attacker Kristle Winter led Cypress defensively with eight steals. Freshman keeper Brooke Sovick made 17 saves on the day.
Cypress has no time off as they head into the four-game Cypress invitational starting Friday at 11:15 against Miramar.
