Chargers Rout the Corsairs

Santa Monica, Calif. – Cypress traveled to Santa Monica Wednesday for its first road match of the season. The Chargers took control early and never looked back defeating Santa Monica 14-3. Sophomore 2 Meter player Nora Jean TerBorch led Cypress with ten of the teams 14 goals.
The pace went Cypress’s way from the beginning shutting out Santa Monica in the first quarter 4-0. Cypress jumped out to a 6-0 lead before Santa Monica could score and ended the first half 7-1. Cypress allowed just two more goals on the way to an 11 goal win. Sophomore keeper Brooke Sovick made 17 saves on the day.
Cypress (2-1) has over a week off before returning home next Thursday to host Sierra. The two will meet at 6:00 pm at Cypress.
