When to Expect Your Financial Aid Funds

Fall-2014-Disbursement-Chart

The first disbursement for the fall 2014 semester is on August 29, 2014 for students who are enrolled and have completed their files with the Financial Aid Office.  Each semester, the Financial Aid Office calculates the units you are enrolled in on the last day to add classes to determine your eligibility for aid. The last day to add classes each semester is referred to as the “FREEZE DATE” for financial aid purposes. The freeze date for fall 2014 is September 8, 2014.

To check the status of you financial aid file please check your myGateway account.

Financial aid will only pay for the units you are officially enrolled in on or before September 8, 2014. Students must add all units prior to the established freeze date for financial aid purposes. No exceptions to this policy will be made (i.e. ‘waitlisted’ students needing to add units, late-start classes, etc.). For students applying for financial aid after the freeze date, your enrollment status will be determined at the time we receive your FAFSA information. Students eligible for a Federal Pell Grant and enrolled in less than 12 units will have their Pell Grant disbursement amounts adjusted accordingly. Most financial aid programs offered at Cypress College require that you be attending school at least half-time (6 units).

If you have any further questions please call our office at (714) 484-7114. Our office hours for summer 2014 are Monday–Thursday, 8 a.m.–6 p.m., closed Friday. Otherwise, our normal operating hours are Monday–Thursday, 8 a.m.–6 p.m., Friday, 8 a.m.–12 p.m.

Sincerely,
The Financial Aid Office
