‘Love is Louder’ Event on Tuesday, Sept. 30

The Cypress College Veterans Office and the Campus Health Center are hosting a “Love is Louder” event focused on mental health awareness. It will take place on Tuesday, September 30, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., at the Pond.

Love is Louder

Love is Louder was started by The Jed Foundation, MTV, and Brittany Snow to support anyone feeling mistreated, misunderstood or alone. The organization says that hundreds of thousands of people have joined to form a “movement of all types of people who have come together to raise the volume around the message that love and support are louder than any internal or external voice that brings us down.”

“Love is Louder” events have been used in schools and other organizations to address issues such as bullying, negative self-image, discrimination, loneliness and depression.

The campus event will feature resources and activities for the campus population, as well as specific groups such as military veterans, the LGBTQ community, and those struggling with mental health issues.
