Dr. Ben Izadi had nine years of experience in research and teaching as an assistant/associate professor of Engineering at the University of Idaho and three years as Microsoft/Novell trainer for a private institution before joining Cypress College in 2002. He has taught numerous introductory, advanced and emerging technology courses during the past 16 years. His area of specialty is Computer Networking and Cybersecurity and he is the lead Cisco Academy instructor. He has also served as the campus SLO coordinator for four years. He is currently supervising the CyberPatriot and PACE Cybersecurity programs.

Steve Tran

Steve Tran started off as a young black hat before working in the public and private sector. Professional experience includes advising Fortune 100 and 500 companies in the area of information security and protected record-breaking events such as the World Series 2015 Royals vs. Mets, World Series 2016 Chicago Cubs vs. Cleveland Indians, NFL Super Bowl LI Patriots vs. Falcons, and Confederate World Cup 2017. He is now the Chief Information Security Officer for MGM Studios. Steve has been with Cypress College since 2017, teaching the inaugural cybersecurity class to AUHSD schools and Anti-Hacking at Cypress College. Steve brings 22 years of real-world experience to academia including over a dozen IT certifications and an M.S. in Computer Information Systems, Computer Security from Boston University.

Russ Alizadeh

Russ began his technical, managerial, and academic career in Computer Science and Information Technology in 1987 by joining CSU Fullerton after graduating from the St. Mary’s University of San Antonio, TX with a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science and Master of Science in Computer Information Systems. He later joined British Petroleum (Defense and Aerospace subsidiary), where he worked for 9 years as a Senior Information Systems Specialist. He spent another 5 years with Bank of the West (formerly Sanwa Bank) in the following positions: Senior Open Systems Team Lead, Emerging Technology Support Engineer, and Enterprise Information Security Manager.

Sang Nguyen

Dr. Sang Nguyen has more than 20 years experience working in the U.S. government and is currently the Head of Information Technology and Cybersecurity for Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach. He teaches cybersecurity courses for APUS and has consulted with numerous higher education organizations to develop cybersecurity certification programs.

Raymond Kdeiss

Raymond Kdeiss has worked in the UNIX/Linux field for over 30 years. One of his major accomplishments was building the first cable modem data center for the ISP provider AT&T Broadband. He is currently working as the Cybersecurity architect and lead UNIX Systems Engineer at Northrop Grumman managing and supporting over 400 Linux servers. Raymond received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electronics Engineering from California State University, Fullerton in 1987 and has been working in the UNIX/Linux field since. Raymond recently acquired a master’s degree in Information Technology from Azusa Pacific University. He previously taught Linux classes at ITT Technical Institute and is currently teaching computer courses at Cypress College.

Ofer Amrami

Ofer Amrami, head of information security at James Hardie Building Products, is responsible for developing and leading the company’s global information security strategy and programs. Ofer has been part of the IT security community for over 15 years during which he has successfully built and led several information security programs in both the public and private sectors.

Ofer holds a Master of Science in Information Security and Assurance, as well as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI), and Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/E) certifications.

A proponent of proactive defense, Ofer emphasizes and advocates preemptive and innovative security strategies, including business process assessments and improvement, cyber intelligence, and information security education programs.
