DESCRIPTION:Cypress College and Active Minds present “Wake Up” film screening with special guest speaker Michael Zibilich. \nJoin us for a moving documentary about suicide awareness\, followed by a discussion with our guest speaker. \nAbout Michael Zibilich\nOn April 21\, 2012\, Michael and his wife\, Gayle\, lost their only child\, Michael “Keller” Zibilich to suicide\, a college student at LSU. Over the years\, Michael has spoken about suicide awareness to thousands of university students throughout the United States. Michael’s message is simple: In the fight against suicide\, all of us must consider ourselves first responders\, in our own lives and in the lives of those we know and love. \nDevastated by this inexplicable loss\, they have dedicated their time and resources to promoting suicide education and awareness to college students throughout America. \nRegister for this event.

DESCRIPTION:Our Active Minds Chapter on campus has started an Active Minds Student Support Group\, a safe space for students to receive support when it comes to their mental health. \nThe Active Minds Student Support Group will meet every Wednesday at 5 p.m. Occasionally\, Active Minds will host in-person meetings if there is a special activity planned. All students are encouraged to attend. \nThis is a safe space for students to talk about their mental health challenges\, learn coping skills\, and experience a sense of community with their fellow peers.
