SUMMARY:Fall 2024 Theatre Auditions
DESCRIPTION:Theatre Arts is hosting auditions for two plays: Natasha\, Pierre\, & The Great Comet of 1812 and The Last Days of Judas Iscariot. \nAudition Information for Natasha\, Pierre\, & The Great Comet of 1812\nDirected By: Sonya Randall\nChoreographer: Ebony Cardenas\nMusical Director: Gabrielle Maldonado \nThe auditions are happening August 26 or August 27 at 7 p.m.\, with callbacks August 29 and possibly August 30 at 7 p.m. in the Campus Theater. \n\nBe prepared with 16 bars of a classical/musical theatre style song (an accompanist will be provided) and bring clothes to move in for the dance audition later in the evening. Headshots/resumes not required\, but encouraged. Actors who play instruments strongly encouraged to audition.\nNo experience needed. High school students are allowed to audition as well.\nRehearsal times: Monday through Thursday\, evenings\, time TBA.\nPerformance Dates: October 11\, 12\, 18\, 19 at 7 p.m. and October 13\, 20 at 4 p.m. in the Campus Theater.\nIf cast\, you will be required to register as a student at Cypress College and enroll in a Musical Theatre Performance class as well as sign up to work on crew for a separate production.\nFor more information\, contact Sonya Randall at srandall@cypresscollege.edu.\n\nSynopsis: The Great Comet is a Electro-pop opera that is entirely sung through and based on a section of the classic novel\, War and Peace. When she falls under the spell of the roguish Anatole\, it is up to Pierre\, a family friend in the middle of an existential crisis\, to pick up the pieces of her shattered reputation. \nAudition Information for The Last Days of Judas Iscariot\nDirected By: Jennifer McMillin \nThe auditions are happening August 26 or August 27 at 7 p.m.\, with callbacks August 29 at 7 p.m. in the Studio Theater. \n\nPlease prepare a 1-minute contemporary monologue.\nRehearsal Times: Tuesday\, Thursday\, and Friday 3 – 6 p.m.\nPerformance Dates: November 1\, 2\, 8\, 9 at 7 p.m.​ and November 3\, 10 at 4 p.m. in the Studio Theater\nIf cast\, you will be required to register as a student at Cypress College for a Rehearsal/Performance course\, and sign up to work on crew for a separate production.\nFor more information\, contact Jennifer McMillin at jmcmillin@cypresscollege.edu.\n\nSynopsis: The Last Days of Judas Iscariot tells the story of a court case over the ultimate fate of Judas Iscariot.
