He founded the B.I.G.E. Club at Allan Hancock College to support formerly incarcerated and socially impacted students\, and continues to mentor youth and speak across California and beyond. At Berkeley\, he was active in communities like EOP\, Hope Scholars\, and Underground Scholars\, and taught in juvenile detention centers. Cheech’s mission is to uplift underserved populations through education\, with plans to pursue graduate studies and eventually establish B.I.G.E. as a nonprofit organization.

The Access Project will be hosting a live scan day\, in partnership with the LIFE Program\, at Recovery Road in Anaheim on Friday\, April 7\, 2023 (from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.). Following live scan day\, every participant will then be matched with a pro bono attorney\, who will walk them through the expungement process! \nOpen to ALL Cypress College students\, alumni\, former students\, and their family members. Unfortunately\, we cannot invite community members with no affiliation to Cypress College at this time. \nLive scan Day is NOT required to receive pro bono attorney support services; however\, it is strongly recommended. \nPlease register for this event by Wednesday\, April 5.

Cheech Raygoza is a a 1st-gen\, low-income\, formerly incarcerated\, 3rd year\, non-traditional transfer student from Allan Hancock College in the city of Santa Maria. While at community college\, he founded the Beyond Incarceration Greater Education (B.I.G.E.) club which helps formerly incarcerated and socially impacted individuals enroll and succeed in college. He is currently a sociology major here at Cal and also serve as a pillar to the communities that are underprivileged\, underrepresented\, underserved\, or low socioeconomic status\, Cheech serves those from his own neighborhoods.
