DESCRIPTION:RECEPTION: 6-8 p.m.\, MARCH 15\, 2018 \nCURATED BY JEAN ROBISON \n“Authenticate” is Cypress College Art Gallery’s first group exhibition to center on the culture of the internet and emerging questions regarding veracity\, trust\, and transparency. The exhibition is curated by Jean Robison of the USC Roski – Internet Studio Program. The artworks included in “Authenticate” are nuanced videos and other representations of online art work\, which examine a crisis of confidence within an ever–industrializing and –professionalizing web culture. These artworks were created by artists from around the world\, including: \n\nJeremy Bailey – Canada\nYoung Hae Chang Heavy Industries – Korea\, USA\nLauren McCarthy – USA\nRafael Lozano-Hemmer – Mexico\nYucef Merhi – Venezuela\n\nCannibalistic Caterpillar – Special performance at reception \nIn addition to the exhibition\, the Cypress College Art Gallery will host related events throughout the run of the exhibition. The truth of real reporting. 10:30-11:30am at the gallery \nApril 10\, 2018\, Workshop – Professor Julie Schafer – Every Photo is a LIE;  A tutorial about photography\, and manipulation.  Come see how easy it is to alter reality using a few basic Photoshop tools. 1pm at the gallery. Laptops will be provided for workshop. \nApril 12\, 2018\,  Film Screening – The Internet’s Own Boy 6:30-8:30pm at the gallery
