DESCRIPTION:The Japanese Culture Club (JCC) is an organization dedicated to the exploration and experience of Japanese culture\, as well as an appreciation of the language. The objectives of JCC are to promote intercultural tolerance by striving towards a deeper understanding and appreciation of Japanese culture; to promote the study of the Japanese language\, particularly through Cypress College’s Japanese Program; to provide an environment where Japanese learners may meet and develop connections through common interests. The types of events and activities done by the JCC include excursions to sites of Japanese cultural significance (such as Little Tokyo or Japanese Buddhist temples)\, events hosted by Japanese-American organizations/communities (such as holiday observances)\, and general club bonding excursions (Japanese restaurants\, movie nights\, karaoke\, etc.) The JCC meets every Monday from 5:15–6:15 p.m. in HUM-108. DESCRIPTION:Interculture Club is a club which serves as an opportunity for students of Cypress College to meet people from a variety of different ethnic and cultural backgrounds. It is a club that celebrates diversity and promotes acceptance and tolerance for one another. Interculture Club seeks to promote awareness of different cultures. The objective of the Interculture Club is to create bridges between various people who come from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds and to expand the knowledge that peers have regarding one another’s cultural backgrounds. At every meeting students have the opportunity to learn about new cultures and try new customs\, dances\, and foods. Some of the events and activities the Interculture Club has planned include: international potluck\, international costumes\, a post-it challenge to practice kindness and tolerance\, and cultural discussions. SUMMARY:Psychiatric Technology Club Meetings
DESCRIPTION:The Cypress College Psychiatric Technology Club is organized to promote the field of Psychiatric Technology and raise awareness on the impact it has in the healthcare field through community service\, activities and learning experiences form all members including those who have graduated from the program. To raise awareness the club attends campus wide club activities and events. As well as\, to reach out to those who are interested in the field and encourage them to join both the program and the club to learn and experience what it is to be a Psych Tech. Furthermore\, aside from interacting with people outside of the club we will also be focusing on the members who are part of both the club and the program. Club members who are in the first and second semesters of the program can get assistance from those who are in the third semester and students who have graduation the program as a club member. The Psychiatric Technology Club meets every Wednesday from 12:30–1 p.m. in TE3– 315. SUMMARY:Aviation and Travel Club Meetings
DESCRIPTION:The Aviation and Travel Club helps connect the students who share the same interesting aviation and other related studies together. This helps students explore and learn about their interests in an informal setting allowing students to have a stress free environment. The types of events and activities done by the club include an Open House to test and play with the flight simulators\, the Plane of Fame airshow at Chino Airport\, and a BBQ Beach Party. SUMMARY:Veteran's Day Anniversary Event
DESCRIPTION:The Veterans Resource Center is excited to announce that we will celebrate the 100th Veterans Day Anniversary Thursday\, November 8\, at 11 a.m. around the flagpole (next to the Business building). This year we will honor Mr. Blas Villalobos\, who is an Iraq War veteran and has spent most of his time after an honorable discharge informing policy makers about the challenges veterans encounter when they return home from war. In addition\, we have a special musical arrangement by Caesar Martinez and will be played by a quartet composed of Gary Gopar\, David Pittell\, Humberto Ruiz\, Jr.\, and Kerry Loeschen. Come out and honor those who have served\, listen to great music\, and afterwards join us to help us close the Different 1% Art Exhibit with veteran artist Ehren Tool (cypresscollege.edu/event/a-different-1/2018-11-13/).
