SUMMARY:International Cultural Festival
DESCRIPTION:The Cypress College Foreign Language Department is hosting an International Cultural Festival February 28\, 2023\, from 11 a.m.–7 p.m. \nThis free event is intercultural and features world dance\, a fashion show\, live band music\, and poetry. There will also be world cuisine with a cooking demonstration and free food samples. The Main Stage will be in front of the Art Gallery. \nAnd if that weren’t enough\, there will be student displays and discussions on intercultural artifacts\, paintings\, photos\, slides\, and films — plus an astronomy telescope observation\, face painting\, your name in Chinese calligraphy\, and free Japanese food samples! \nEvent Schedule (subject to change)  \n\n11 – 11:50 a.m. Pre-Opening Parade with Japanese dancers\, musicians and inter-cultural fashioned students on the “ACCESS Tour” route of the campus (starting from Humanities with 10 stops) presenting a big banner to advertise the festival.\n12 – 5:30 p.m. at the Patio (between Fine Arts\, the Gallery and Cypress College Complex): World Cuisine Cooking Demonstrations by HRC Program Students\, music\, poetry\, live performance\, Cultural information booths\, and Special gallery exhibition\, etc.\n5:30 – 7 p.m. DEI-themed Film Screening at the Planetarium (Immersive Digital Classroom) / At the same time\, telescope observation by the pond.\n\nFor details\, contact Professor Mihoko Luther at mluther@cypresscollege.edu.

SUMMARY:Cypress College Art Gallery Presents: Super Makers
DESCRIPTION:Super Makers allows visitors a behind-the-scenes look at the extraordinary inventiveness and skill that go into creating a front-of-house spectacle. On display is the work of Stacia Lang and Michael Philpot\, designers and makers for the fashion\, media\, and entertainment industries. \nView costumes\, case studies\, photographs\, videos\, and artifacts from the careers of Lang and Philpot\, whose storied credits include Spiderman\, Superman\, Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings\, Amazing Race\, the New York City Ballet\, Billy Idol\, Trisha Paytas\, Dolly Parton\, Prince\, and more. \n  \nCypress College Art Gallery (CCAG) presents professional and student exhibitions\, performances\, workshops\, lectures\, and visiting artists’ projects to enhance Fine Arts coursework\, further support student success\, and enrich the broader Cypress community. \nLocated on Kizh and Tongva land\, CCAG is in the gateway area of the Cypress College campus near the campus theater. CCAG is closest to Valley View Street\, which is accessible from the 405\, 91\, and 5 Freeways. Park in Lot 1 in the designated visitor’s area\, and remember to purchase a parking pass.
