Courses
SPAN 101 (Elementary Spanish I)
- Description: Emphasizes the acquisition of basic skills in pronunciation, listening, speaking, reading and writing. Students are introduced to the culture and history of Spain and Latin America.
- Units: 5
- Prerequisite: None
- Transferability: UC credit limitation/CSU
SPAN 102 (Intermediate Spanish II)
- Description: Emphasizes the acquisition of basic skills in pronunciation, listening, speaking, reading and writing. Students are introduced to the culture and history of Spain and Latin America.
- Units: 5
- Prerequisite: Span 101 with a grade of “C” or better OR one year of high school Spanish with a grade of “C”or better.
- Transferability: UC/CSU
Textbook for both courses:
- “Tu Mundo: español sin fronteras” by Andrade (et al) – 2nd Edition
- Publisher: McGraw-Hill (publication year 2019, already released.)
The Cypress College bookstore has a customized edition for these courses. Students who purchase used textbooks will still need to purchase the access code to online lab via Connect. The bundle edition available at the bookstore is cheaper than the used textbook with a separate online access.
