Cypress College welcomed approximately 3,125 people – of which 1,163 were new students – to this academic year’s fall New Student Welcome Night. These new students and their families helped us kick off the academic year during our New Student Welcome Night, which is held annually in the fall. This huge turnout meant that every seat was taken for our student presentations, held throughout campus.

This year, we hosted two parent panels, one in English and one in Spanish. In both, parents of Charger Experience Program graduates answered questions from incoming students’ parents on how to support their child as they transition to Cypress College. The panel included Renay Laguana-Ferinac, Tori Felipe, Alex Hsu, Irene Ramirez, Cristina Resendiz, Araceli Colin, and Andres Liceas Sr.; they shared their wisdom and taught our new parents how to transition their student and themselves to higher education.

The night also included an Academic and Student Services resource fair, inflatable games such as axe throwing, skee ball, darts, soccer darts, basketball, and a variety of food options including kettle corn and Raising Cane’s!
