Fall 2025 Class Schedule Now Available; Note New Common Course Numbering
Tl;dr: Course names are changing for some classes in the following subjects (COMM, ENGL, POSC, PSY, MATH, STAT) in the fall 2025 semester. Please read this email closely and see the table at the bottom or on the District Common Course Numbering page.
Fall 2025 registration will begin April 22, and the online searchable schedule for fall 2025 is now live with some changes as we implement AB 1111 Common Course Numbering (CCN). Learn about CCN and how it will impact class registration from the FAQ and links below.
Registration start dates have already been emailed, or you may confirm your registration start date in myGateway by clicking on “Registration Appointment.”
Please note: “Registration Appointment” is NOT an appointment to register at a specific date and time. You may register at any point starting from your registration “appointment” start date and time up until the day before the semester begins.
What is Common Course Numbering?
The CCN system provides a streamlined and consistent approach to course numbers and titles across California Community College systems and aims to create a student-friendly system for course registration and credit transfers.
Why is Common Course Numbering being introduced?
By standardizing course numbers and titles across California Community Colleges, CCN reduces confusion, supports academic planning, and enables smooth transitions between colleges and universities.
How will Common Course Numbering impact the registration process?
It is important to note that this is Phase I of Common Course Numbering implementation. Not all of our computer and registration systems are currently capable of displaying Common Course Numbering. As a result, the online searchable schedule will show the new courses at the bottom of the subject list or under the new subject prefix, but in other places such as the Classic View and College Scheduler registration systems, the original numbers may still appear.
Currently, for CCN courses with no prefix change to the subject (ENGL, COMM), College Scheduler will still list the original subject and course number. For CCN courses with a prefix change to the subject (POLS, PSYC, STAT), College Scheduler will list a mix of the new subject with the old course number (e.g. STAT 120 C instead of STAT C1000).
Please pay close attention to the note at the top of the searchable class schedule identifying impacted courses.

You may also refer to the table below or on the District CCN page to see which course numbers have been changed. Courses with an asterisk (*) have subject prefix changes (e.g. POSC → POLS).
