Cypress College’s Veterans Resource Centers presents several events celebrating the Veterans Day Holiday tomorrow.

Associated Students Thanksgiving Food Drive
Associated Students is holding its annual Thanksgiving Food Drive to fill baskets for selected students in need. AS hopes to provide 30 baskets along with a grocery gift card to purchase a turkey or alternative. While grocery shopping, consider grabbing a few items for this great cause. Donate individually or as a group effort. Through November 18, drop off items at Student Life and Leadership or ask for item pick-up at x47198 or studentlife@cypresscollege.edu.
Affinity Group Sock Drive
Four affinity groups are uniting for charity this month. APIDA, the Legacy Program, the Puente Program, and Rising Scholars are collecting for a sock drive. Until the end of the month, drop off new socks with tags at any collection bin on campus, so that people in need can have one of the most-requested items during a difficult time.
Campus Closed
In honor of Veterans Day tomorrow, November 11, the campus and all online services will be closed.
Temporary Closure: Student Health and Wellness Center
The Student Health & Wellness Center will be closed until the end of this week as it moves from a temporary location back to its remodeled offices in Gym II.
Veterans Appreciation Game
Be sure to catch the upcoming Women’s Volleyball Veterans Appreciation Game: November 12, 6 p.m. vs. Orange Coast College at Gym II.
Athletics Giving Week
Cypress College presents Athletics Giving Week, November 12-14. From the Athletics Department: This is your chance to support our incredible student-athletes as they chase their goals — on and off the court, field, and classroom. Your support helps us create lifelong memories, compete at the highest level, build leaders on and off the field, enhance our facilities with innovation.

Illuminated Visions
The Media Arts Department brings its projection mapping creations to campus for the third time. Illuminated Vision is a free international light-show, presenting work from digital artists around the world.
When: November 20, 6 – 9 p.m.

Closing Events: Art of the Haitian
Global South, 2025
Haitian Revolution: Art of the Haiti Global South, 2025, showcases the talent of the Haitian Diaspora, as well as aspects of Haitian history and spirituality. Images of Haiti’s independence ancestors hang alongside Haitian Realist works depicting life in Haiti, and Magic Realist visions of people living their everyday lives on the island nation surrounded by unpolluted waters, peace, and plenty. The exhibit is part of the 8th SUR:BIENNIAL, a presentation of works by local and international artists influenced by the artistic traditions of Mexico, Central & South America, and the Caribbean. The exhibit runs until November 13 at the Cypress College Art Gallery.

From Here to There: Karen Emmett Exhibition
New exhibition From Here to There represents photographic and mixed media work from 1999-present. These artworks document the unspectacular, the overlooked, search for identity, and transformation and help define similarities or differences.

Building Healthy Masculinity
Rising Scholars presents Keepin’ Up The Good Fight; You vs. Pressure: Finding Ways to Finish Strong. The group invites you to join them for their second men’s meeting, which will focus on ways to combat pressure. Food provided! RSVP to reserve your spot.
