Black History Month Celebrations: 7 Steps to Black Student Success by Dr. Chike Akua

NOCCD Black Faculty and Staff Association presents author and speaker Dr. Chike Akua in the Cypress College Theater presenting “Honoring our Ancestral Obligations: 7 Steps to Black Student Success.”

Dr. Akua is:

  • an Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership at Clark Atlanta University
  • A former Teacher of the Year
  • Selected as one of Ebony magazine’s “50 Leaders of Tomorrow”
  • Committed to culturally relevant and responsive pedagogy and instructional materials
  • A leading authority on increasing the achievement of today’s students.

6 p.m. Author & Speaker: Dr. Chike Akua (early seating starts at 5:45pm, event starts promptly)
7 p.m. Refreshments and Book Signing
