Cheech Shares from UC Berkeley
“An Hour with Cheech” will be offered via Zoom. Cheech Raygoza is a a 1st-gen, low-income, formerly incarcerated, 3rd year, non-traditional transfer student from Allan Hancock College in the city of Santa Maria. While at community college, he founded the Beyond Incarceration Greater Education (B.I.G.E.) club which helps formerly incarcerated and socially impacted individuals enroll and succeed in college. He is currently a sociology major here at Cal and also serve as a pillar to the communities that are underprivileged, underrepresented, underserved, or low socioeconomic status, Cheech serves those from his own neighborhoods. He states his ultimate goal is to earn a Ph.D. in Social Welfare at Harvard and make B.I.G.E. a non-profit organization.
