You are invited to The Pride Center’s DEBUT Drag Show at Cypress College, May 2 at 7 p.m. in the FASS Lobby; seating begins at 6:30 p.m. RSVP here.
What is it?
SPOTLIGHT is a campus Drag Show dedicated to cultivating artistic expression, self-love, and LGBTQ+ Culture. Pride Center Students who have been learning the art of drag will be making their performance debut alongside professional drag queens in a one-night-only event full of charisma, glitter, and big drag energy.

How did this start?

Pride Center students took an interest in Drag as a performing art after our workshop series on Queer Icons and began asking staff how to begin performing.

Pride Staff member Terra Acevedo has been a Producer, Performer, and Instructor of Variety Cabaret & Drag shows in Los Angeles for 5 years. Terra took modules from their workshop courses and began teaching Pride Center students in weekly Drag Workshops, cultivating each individual student’s Drag Identity & act.

Pride Staff member Jonathan Cossio is a Drag Queen whose interest in makeup helped secure sponsorship from Kim Chi Beauty and secured professional Drag Queens as our SPOTLIGHT Drag Show guest performers and panel of judges.
