Street, Online, and Campus Harassment

Nina M. Flores, Ph.D., is a faculty member in the Social & Cultural Analysis of Education (SCAE) master’s program, and also teaches in the Liberal Studies department at CSULB. Dr. Flores has a PhD in Urban Planning from the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs, where she specialized in community development and focused her research on gender, justice, and cities.

Using an intersectional approach to studying issues of gender, race, cities, and justice, Dr. Flores will examine incidents with street harassment and anti-harassment organizing. The discussion will examine campuses as communities, explore the relationship between students and cities, and look at connections between power, resistance, and justice.

It will also touch upon issues of:

* Community Development

* Women and Gender Based Violence

* Campus Sexual Assault

The event will take place in CCCPLX 414. Pizza and soda will be served.
