Writing is Rejection: My Road to Publication and What I’ve Learned Along the Way

This Humanities in Action series event is a conversation with Ashton Politanoff, Cypress College Professor and author of the new novel Dad Had a Bad Day.
The event will include a reading by the author, a Q&A, and a book signing. Coffee and pastries will be served.

Ashton Politanoff is the author of Dad Had a Bad Day and You’ll Like it Here. His writing has appeared in McSweeney’s, NOON, Southwest Review, Conjunctions, New York Tyrant, Egress, and elsewhere. He is a former division I tennis player and his childhood coach was Robert Lansdorp, who is credited with coaching Pete Sampras, Tracy Austin, and Maria Sharapova. He is an English Professor at Cypress College.
