About Professor Omidsalar
I began my college education at Pasadena City College. From there, I transferred to UC Berkeley to complete a BA in English. Shortly afterward, I earned both an MA and a Ph.D. in English at the University of Texas at Austin. Previously, I taught in the English department at Allan Hancock College, located in Santa Maria, California. I joined the English department here at Cypress College in fall 2021.
Languages Taught: English
Student & Department Involvement (Club/program/event): Three years as co-coordinator and English instructor of Puente Program; English instructor for the Pride cohort.
Why I Teach: I teach because I had the great fortune of learning from dedicated teachers throughout my high school, college, and graduate school years. I hope to follow their excellent example.
Fun Fact: Both my MA thesis and Ph.D. dissertation focus on American horror fiction.
