Rose Kirby

Dr. Rose Kirby has been a full-time faculty member in the Cypress College Nursing Program since 2019. She began her healthcare career as an EMT and LVN before earning her BSN from California State University, Fullerton; her MSN in Nursing Education from Grand Canyon University; and her Doctorate in Education with a concentration in higher education leadership from Liberty University.

Rose’s doctoral research focused on improving debriefing techniques in nursing simulation. Her areas of instruction include Medical-Surgical Nursing, Pediatrics, and Pharmacology. Prior to transitioning to academia, she spent seven years as a bedside nurse at UCLA, where she served as a preceptor, SuperUser, and unit practice council leader. Rose remains active in clinical practice as a seasonal camp nurse and is a proud recipient of the DAISY Award for excellence in nursing.
