About Professor Kaimikaua

At Cypress College, I teach in our Communication Studies and Airline Travel Careers Departments. Courses that I teach include: Human Communication, Public Speaking, Interpersonal Communication, Intercultural Communication, Small Group, Argumentation and Debate, Honors-Speech, Communication Careers-Portfolio, Customer Care, Cultural Tourism, Destinations-Africa and Asia.

Research Interests: Cultural identity politics, cultural preservation for Pasifika peoples, postcolonialism, and the impact of tourism upon indigenous cultures.

“Other” Profession-In addition to my academic endeavors and support for the interest of cultures, I am also employed by a major U.S. airline carrier and have been a flight attendant for over 25 years combining communication and cultural expertise in our Airline Travel Careers Department.

Comm 100 C Introduction to Human Communication

This is a great class to improve your communication skills in your personal and work relationships, the organizations you belong to, and have the ability to speak in a public forum. You will explore the dimensions of the way humans communicate in three contexts: Interpersonal, Small Group and Public Speaking.
