Campus Holds Third Accreditation Open Forum
Cypress College is accredited through the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC), Western Association of Schools and Colleges, which accredits community colleges and other associate degree granting institutions in the Western region of the United States. The ACCJC is one of seven regional accrediting commissions authorized by the U.S. Department of Education.
Colleges follow a seven-year cycle during which institutional review is continuous. Cypress College is currently undergoing a comprehensive self evaluation in preparation for a visit by a team of peers in October 2017.
As part of the self evaluation, three open forums have been held in order to inform the College community about the process and to solicit feedback on the drafts that the Self Study Standards sub-committees have produced. The third of these forums was held Wednesday, February 1. The next step in the self-study timeline is submission of the first draft of the report to the North Orange County Community College District Board of Trustees, who will review it at their February 14 meeting.
