What: Fine Arts Building Renovation
When: April 1, 2024 – Summer 2026
Where: Cypress College – Parking Lot 8, Fine Arts Building, and surrounding pedestrian areas
Work Hours: 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (anticipated)
Activities: The Fine Arts Renovation project will begin contractor mobilization April 1, 2024. The site logistics plan further illustrates the three phases that are planned and areas that will be closed during construction around the Fine Arts and Theater Arts buildings.
Parking — During the entire construction duration Staff Parking will not be available in Lot 8. Alternate Staff parking spaces are available in Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, and 9. The ADA parking stalls west of the Humanities building will remain open until construction activities begin during the summer. Upon completion (likely by start of fall 2024 semester) the ADA parking stalls will be returned for use. Alternate ADA parking spaces are available in Lots 1, 4, 5, and 7.
Noise — Construction noise is anticipated and most heavily while demolition activities followed by underground pile installation occurs. These activities are expected to take 10 – 12 months (May 2024 – May 2025).
