Lavender Graduation, Queer Prom to be Hosted at Cypress College
Join us May 13 from 5-8 p.m. for our Lavender Graduation, where our LGBTQ+ students can be honored as their true selves. The event is followed by Queer Prom from 8-10 p.m. Register here.
Lavender Graduation recognizes LGBTQ+ students’ academic achievements and contributions to Cypress College. It acknowledges their strength in overcoming the many societal and institutional obstacles in order to succeed. The Queer Prom celebration provides an opportunity for LGBTQ+ students to celebrate their achievements in a space that is safe for them to be recognized and honored as their authentic, true selves, something they may not be comfortable doing at the official commencement ceremony.
