Cypress College Rising Scholars presents Sansón and Me

This month, Cypress College Rising Scholars had the honor of hosting acclaimed film director Rodrigo Reyes for a special screening of his latest masterpiece, “Sansón and Me.” The event was nothing short of captivating, as Rodrigo not only showcased his film but also generously engaged in a thought-provoking Q&A session and post-screening discussion.

“Sansón and Me” tells a poignant tale woven from the threads of friendship, immigration, and the complexities of the criminal justice system. The screening of “Sansón and Me” was not only a cinematic event but also a profound exploration of human connection and resilience. Cypress College Rising Scholars is honored to have been a part of this unforgettable experience.

Spring Egg Hunt

This month, the Classified Senate orchestrated an exhilarating egg hunt that brought joy and excitement to all participants. Participants eagerly sought after the prestigious Golden Egg in a spirited competition that saw them scaling trees and navigating through dense bushes in pursuit of victory. While playful and competitive, this event also was a celebration of unity and community spirit, leaving everyone with a renewed sense of joy and connection.

Student Services Spotlight

This month, Cypress College’s Office of the Vice President of Student Services proudly celebrates Jenny Lee’s remarkable tenure. In February 2024, Jenny marked a significant milestone, having dedicated ten years to Cypress College. As the Financial Aid Accounting Specialist, she adeptly manages budgeting, reporting, and all accounting functions. Her role also entails handling the intricate financial aid module Return to Title IV, a critical process that determines students’ eligibility for financial aid and ensures compliance with federal regulations when students withdraw from their last classes. Prior to her tenure at Cypress College, Jenny served for 16 years as the sole staff accountant at Hope International University’s business office. Her passion for working in an educational setting shines through, and she finds fulfillment in assisting students with their accounting needs.
