MAD Projection Mapping Show

The Media Arts Design Department this month presents its work in the show “Be The Light,” a downtown Long Beach art illumination project running now until the end of the year. MAD students and faculty have teamed up with Long Beach’s Loiter Galleries and The Fox, The Folks for the holiday season projection mapping exhibit.

Fuel for Finals

The Library L/LRC (2nd Floor) will stay open late and offer snacks and coffee December 9-12 to help students get through finals. The extended hours will be from 9 p.m. to midnight.

Services will be limited but the library’s second floor will be open for studying. Charger Experience and Associated Students will offer coffee and other fuel in the rotunda.

In addition, for biology students, the tutorial room (first floor) will remain open until 7 p.m. to use the anatomy models Monday to Thursday.


Winter Holiday Campus and Online Services Closed December 24-January 1

Campus and online services will be closed December 24 until January 1 for the Winter Holidays. Enjoy the break!


On Stage & On Display

The Cypress Photo Club presents Disabled is not a bad word, a group exhibition curated by Esme Felix. The show’s theme is acceptance of diagnosis, pride, and/or mourning before diagnosis. The exhibition showcases nine artists: Brody Makua, Chris Drake, courtney coles, Esme Felix, Jaklin Romine, Kayla Plumstead, sea Krob, Valerie Brayton, and Zeina Baltagi.

The Cypress Photo Club has also curated two solo exhibitions in the Student Photography Gallery: Bryan Velasco-Mina’s Raíces Del Triunfo and Meg Hata’s Fragments of Summer. Both exhibitions will feature works from their travels abroad.

Exhibitions are in the Edouard de Merlier Gallery, located in TE-1 Second Floor, Bldg. 10, and will remain on view until February 13, 2025.
