  • February 25 – Day of Expression featuring Gloria Arjona, FASS Lobby
2 – 3 p.m. What is Black History to you? Say it, dance it, read it, sing it, show it, share a recipe, share art, an object, fashion—just express yourself.
3 – 4 p.m. Dr. Arjona will discuss and show Black History in colonial Mexico, including art, song, dance, and food.
  • Ongoing – Legacy of Good Trouble, Library Rotunda

Women’s Flag Football Comes to Cypress

Cypress College Athletics announced last week that women’s flag football will be coming to campus for spring 2026.

“Southern California has quickly become a leader in growing girls flag football at the youth and high school levels. This is an opportunity for Cypress College to help grow the sport and provide more opportunities for female student-athletes at the college level,” Athletic Director Wes McCurtis said in the Athletics story.

The search is on for a head coach. They will both need to build the program and keep it on par with other Charger athletic programs. Click here for the head coach job posting.

New Parking Permit Portal

Cypress College is launching a new parking permit vehicle management system that will make it faster and easier to add or remove vehicles you might park on campus. Here’s how to add your vehicles

  1. Log in to the Parking Permit Registration system using your Microsoft 365 username and password
    • Username: your student ID and “@cypresscollege.edu” (e.g. 01234567@cypresscollege.edu); Password: Your myGateway password.
  2. Once logged in, you may be prompted to give the app permission to open in your browser. If so, scroll to the bottom of the permissions pop-up and click “Sign In” next to Spatial Services.
  3. Once signed in to Spatial Services, click “Allow.”
  4. Now that you’re in the system, input your 8-digit student ID # in the “Banner ID” field, then click on the search (magnifying glass) icon.
  5. Confirm that the autofilled address is correct. This is the address your parking permit will be mailed to. If the address is incorrect or does not populate, please enter your current mailing address and click “Update,” then click “Next.”
  6. On the next screen, please enter the following information for the vehicles you may use to park on campus:
    • Year
    • Make
    • Model
    • Vehicle Color
    • State
    • License Plate Number
  7. Click the “+” to the right of the vehicle information to save each vehicle.
  8. Once you have added all vehicles you might park on campus, click “Next.”
  9. You will now see your assigned parking permit number.
  10. Send yourself a temporary, printable parking permit by clicking the button at the bottom of the screen.
  11. You are now ready to park on campus. You should receive your permanent spring 2025 parking permit in the mail.
