Yesterday, the “Recharge Your Health” fair offered a chance for students and the community to browse resources offered on campus, receive free checkups, get help with public wellness services, and reflect upon personal safety with an art exhibit.

A resource fair at the center of the event featured Cypress College’s health and wellness services, including medical/preventive, blood pressure, and BMI screenings; mental health resources; nutritional education; and sleep hygiene and awareness.

The Student Health and Wellness Center partnered with Serve The People to bring their Dental and Vision Mobile Clinic to provide free, comprehensive exams, which included dental X-rays and eyeglass prescriptions, with a follow-up appointment scheduled to dispense glasses when ready.

Additionally, on-site enrollers assisted with CalOptima and Medi-Cal, Covered CA, CalFresh, and all eligible public health options. Services were provided by Orange County Social Services Agency and other community partners in English, Spanish and Vietnamese.

Finally, Waymakers and The Clothesline Project presented their art piece to support sexual assault survivors, by sharing their stories on a colorful display of t-shirts, each representing victims of particular assaults and offering words of encouragement and support.
