3rd Annual Cypress College Festival Thursday

The Cypress College Festival returns this Thursday, October 16, 10:45 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., outside the west entrance of the FASS Building (between Humanities and College Complex buildings). Experience diverse cultures beyond the classroom with 17 types of international cuisines, each offering free samples, as well as cultural performances, dance, singing, poetry, and more, representing various parts of the world.

Undocumented Student Success Week

Undocumented Student Success Week takes place October 13–16, with a special bonus session on October 21, and aims to support, celebrate, and empower undocumented students as they navigate their educational journeys. Engaging workshops, resource sharing, and community building opportunities will fill the week. Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to attend and support.

Great Shake Out October 16

The 2025 National Great Shake Out takes place Thursday, October 16, 2025 at 10:16 a.m. Cypress College will conduct a “Full Evacuation” exercise, unless a disability prevents it. Messages will arrive electronically and Campus Safety officers will lead people to their evacuation zone.


Pat Ganer Celebration of Life

Celebrate the life of Dr. Patricia Ganer, a beloved professor, coach, mentor, colleague, and friend known as the matriarch of Cypress College.

When: Tuesday, October 14, 2 p.m.

Planetarium Preview

Employees have a chance to preview two shows this Friday. First, “Dark Universe,” which investigates the 95% of the universe made up of dark matter. Second, “Birth of Planet Earth,” showing animation of Earth over its lifespan from beginning to present. Note: Shows begin on time, no late entries; doors open 15 minutes before the show; no reentries after exiting; and all attendees must be over 5 years old.

Transfer/Pre-Graduation & Job Fair

The T/PG fair educates students about transfer options and career preparation. College and university reps will discuss admissions requirements, and Cypress College’s Division of Student Services reps will share information on services students need to succeed after transfer.

Join the Cypress College Foundation’s annual Pups n’ Pints event. Invite Cypress College alumni and retirees, too! Expect beer on tap, a live band, pet photos, and food trucks.

Fall Musical: Into the Woods

Cypress College Theatre presents Stephen Sondheim’s Into the Woods. The musical intertwines the plots of several Brothers Grimm fairy tales, such as Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Cinderella, exploring the consequences of the characters’ wishes and quests.

When: October 17, 18 at 7 p.m. and October 19 at 4 p.m.
