*Each division has one dean representative who submits rankings. If a dean oversees multiple divisions, the dean can designate a representative(s) to act on their behalf to score and vote for one of the divisions. If a division does not have a dean, the division may designate a representative to act on their behalf.

**If a faculty member holds multiple roles (e.g., IPLOR Committee Chair and Academic Senate Past President), the Academic Senate will appoint a representative to rank on their behalf so that each person’s scoring will only count once.
Terms of Membership  Representation is ongoing.
Membership Process  Members are appointed by the functions listed in Membership Composition.
Meeting Dates/Times  The Faculty Prioritization Committee will meet at least once in the fall. The VPI will annually set and disseminate a Faculty Hiring Prioritization schedule by the first Tuesday of September.
Meeting ProceduresThe Vice President of Instruction will conduct the meeting according to the decision-making process outlined below.
Consensus Process, Decision-Making, and DocumentationThe Faculty Hiring Prioritization Committee will review and score all position requests with a rubric to prioritize requests.

The committee will meet to discuss the results and reach a clear agreement on the rankings. This agreement will seek to be based on “consensus,” or a general state of agreement rather than a “majority opinion.”

The committee will attempt to resolve each member’s concerns before asking for agreement and closing discussion regarding a recommendation.
Communication and Distribution of MaterialsBased on the Faculty Hiring Prioritization Process, the VPI will annually set and disseminate, to PBC and the Faculty Hiring Prioritization Committee, a Faculty Prioritization schedule by the first Tuesday in September.

Following the committee’s prioritization, the VPI will share the prioritized list to PBC, then PAC.

The Faculty Hiring Prioritization Process indicates that the President will make the final determination and communicate to Chancellor’s Staff. Then, the President will communicate the Chancellor’s final recommendation to the Board of Trustees to the Faculty Hiring Prioritization Committee, PBC, and PAC.

The Committee will use a private SharePoint to distribute the applications and related documentation to the committee members.
