About Cheech
Arturo (“Cheech”) Raygoza is a first-generation, formerly incarcerated, non-traditional transfer student who recently earned his Sociology degree from UC Berkeley. He founded the B.I.G.E. Club at Allan Hancock College to support formerly incarcerated and socially impacted students, and continues to mentor youth and speak across California and beyond. At Berkeley, he was active in communities like EOP, Hope Scholars, and Underground Scholars, and taught in juvenile detention centers. Cheech’s mission is to uplift underserved populations through education, with plans to pursue graduate studies and eventually establish B.I.G.E. as a nonprofit organization.
